>This for social anxiety? .5mg is good for me. Do you even get tired? 1mg is a dose typical for prn sleeping (not that it's indicated for sleep, but it's just more convenient for a doctor to tell their patient to take 2 .5mg pills if they really need sleep one night rather than prescribing a low qty. of Ambien).
2mg is a lot, it's the starting dose for seizure patients.
But try 1.5mg and see what happens. Then try 2mg. It's a safe drug, just don't start a new dose until the weekend so your body can get use to balancing on it. The first day of a higher dose may involve you bumping into walls while you walk down hallways and people giggle about your "boozing." Ahh, college...

1 mg of Klonopin per day is not much, however I too wonder why your doc would prescribe that for social anxiety. Maybe Buspar or Inderal PRN would work better unless your social anxiety is continuous.
Therapeutic doses os Klonopin for panic disease average 2 - 3 mg/day and double or triple that for siezures. It's not much good as a sleeping aid if taken regularly. That effect wears off after a while.

I take 1 mg K/day for panic disorder and anxiety, and it's very effective for me. My psychiatrist seems quite surprised (but pleased) that such a low dose works. He's offered to raise it, but that isn't necessary for me. So, it seems the dose you're on is considered pretty small by many standards; maybe you should discuss a trial of a higher dose with your doctor.
P.S. I do take Xanax occasionally too for "breakthrough" anxiety, but hardly ever need it any more.

I told my p-doc .5mg doesn't work on me, I need 1mg, but he didn't believe me and wrote a small prn script for .5's.

It seems my sp is more dopamine related. low drive, poor concentration, even as we speak i am having a heck of a time finding words. also getting anything done is incredibally hard, getting out of bed, doing homework. when im in a conversation everything just flys right past me. partiallly i have a hard time comunicating thoughts, partially i am inhibited in social situations (low self esteem, high rejection sensitivity)klono does nothing for this. really i cant talk to a single person despite the fact i am surrounded by people all the time. my cure all is alcohol(maybe a little too sedating) and snorting a.d.d. pills(sorry to say) nothing else works at all. name the ad and ive probably tried it.
I am so interested if there is anyone else in a similar state and what they have found effective. thanx tom
