When I was taking Neurontin I experienced this, too. Unfortunately, it went away after a couple of days. Neurontin did kick in an anti-anxiety effect sort of like the SSRIs for me after a few weeks, though, but not that warm enjoyable feeling when I first started taking it.
Just my experience,
Jon

I had that reaction the first two or three times I took it -- very pleasant and mellow, and definitely not placebo effect. Since then I haven't felt anything when I take it, good or bad.
