Why cant I stay away from drinking when on Zoloft?
I seems that my drinking is over its limits, but I really dont care?!
My economy is ruined and I have hurt so many people.
I think I am going insane soon.

Mats,
I think that placing this on the board is a cry for help. If you have truly reached your bottom with alcohol there is always an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in a town near you. I've been in 12-step programs for seven years.
One thing of note. Depression and Alcoholism can go hand and hand very often. Those of us who are addicts need to treat the addiction AND the depression. The thing is that often in 12-step groups people are anti-medication. One thing I've tried to remember is that my treatment for depression is a separate from my treatment for my addiction. In order to treat my depression I need anti-depressants and other meds.
Without treating my depression I might use. Without treating my addiction, I will be depressed. It's an awful conundrum.
I've found that SSRIs and alcohol do not mix for me. Others on the board will disagree with that. I think that the others are for moderation in drinking on SSRIs. I've just come to the opinion that for me SSRIs and alcohol just do not mix well.
Take Care,
Simcha
