Hi,
I have had complete anorgasmia on all of the SSRIs (except for Zoloft). This side-effect has always appeared from day one. Paxil was no exception, and in fact, one of the worst. However, I've been on Paxil CR 12.5mg for a week now and all I've experienced is what I would describe as slightly increased stamina :) I'm very confident that I can tolerate 25mg and who knows how much more -- I assume it will prove to be dose related. I'm not on anything now that would treat SD so there is no explanation other than that Paxil CR is kinder to me than regular Paxil was. I also took the lowest dose of Lexapro on these same meds and it gave me complete sexual dysfunction from day one. So I don't know why this is but I am very happy about Paxil CR! If anyone out there was happy with regular Paxil in the past except for the sexual side-effects I recommend giving Paxil CR a go based on my experience.

Regular Paxil has been atleast somewhat effective for me in the past so I expect to benefit from Paxil CR as well. I'll let you know in a few weeks how things are going. I'm also doing CBT, and I know meds plus therapy is a potent combination so I'm aiming high.

Are you saying comparable doses are having different effects?

I'm ignorant as to what a comparable dose is. Intuitively, 12.5mg is half the recommended initial dose of Paxil CR and 10mg is half the recommended initial dose of regular Paxil. If that is in fact how to arrive at a comparable dose than yes that is what I am saying. I don't want to spread misinformation. I'm sure if there was a lower rate of sexual dysfunction in the trials for Paxil CR they'd be advertising it. However, my experience has been positive in this regard.
