I took my last dose of prozac 1 month ago.
It was 20 mgs.
Prior to that I only took 60 mgs .. breaking down to 20 mgs a week over a three week period.
I have been on 20 or 40 mgs a day for the last 5 years.
I'm wondering if it is all out of my system? Thanks

By one month you should have very little prozac left in your body. You still might be feeling some withdrawal symptoms.

Dear Rainee,
Prozac is very long acting and takes much longer to clear off from our body. After one month of the last dose, still there will be some prozac left in your body, because its cellular half life is much longer. This is why most patients can come off prozac without tapering. (the easiest SSRI to come off)
Then the molecules of fluoxetine which left in your body will be cleared within some more days. But the change it made in your body and brain will last much longer than you expect. The decreased sexual drive will persist, in some cases for months, and a hollow feeling is there to follow. Not all will experience with this kind of hollow feeling, but if you are susceptible to it, beware!! it is the worst to happen. Then the only resolution is to go back to prozac once again. Don't get terrified. People can come off prozac without experiencing the hollowness. I hope you may be one among them.
Take care
HIBA
