Oh no, not another crazy effexor victim..
Geez, yeah, I can't remember much either, thankfully I have my family to remind me, as well as the profound silence coming from my phone, and my empty e-mail box.. though I've been getting a lot of sympathy.... must have been BAD.I don't understand why its still being touted as fairly side-effect free.
Well actually I do understand I guess its that little thing called money. I've never been so P****d off.
I feel like the victim of a C.I.A. experiment.
And as I mentioned I've tried many anti-depressants and withdrawn from 10 years of heavy benzo-use without this sort of insanity.Okay, I'll be quiet now.

In reply to I Once Heard It Referred To As Side-Effexor (nm), posted by meow mary on October 11, 2002, at 15:19:59
I've been on effexor for 3 years, and I am now trying to get off of it. The only, and truly the ONLY side effect is absolutely no sex drive. Wellbutrin 100mg, took that side effect away, luckily. So far I'm down to 37.5mg every other day, and the dizziness from not taking it that I had the first week is now gone. But I'm scared to death of what it will be like when my doc lowers the dosage again next week. My pdoc added 50mg of Zoloft, to help with the withdrawal, and I suspect he'll increase that. I remember at least twice in the past 2 years I had forgotten to take it for 2-3 days, and each time, it was like an angry manic episode. I haven't asked my pdoc what my diagnosis is, but I don't believe I'm bipolar. I'm merely depressed and have ADD, and have been fighting the urge to kill myself since I was a teen. Also, the desire to die has been worse in the past 6 months than it ever has been. Maybe strong suicidal ideas is a symptom, too?
Sorry to hear about the problems you've been having on Effexor.....I pray you find the right meds.

I think we should start a club for ex-effexor users. Congratulations, you have now passed to then next level. I got off of Effexor too and am feeling so much better. Hey it increased my anxiety just fine. I've been off of it for about 6 weeks and am still getting just a little of the shocks occasionally, especially when I have not eaten, and I look up quickly.
