I have been on 40mg celexa for four weeks (20mg for another four before that) and it has done nothing so I would like to stop it and move on to something else, probably prozac. My doctor is recommending that I taper down the celexa before starting anything else. I do not wish to do that because a) withdrawal is not a pleasureable experience for me and b) I would like to start on the new medicine as quickly as possible. I thought that it was okay to stop one SSRI one day and start a new one the next. Is one of us right, or is the answer more complicated?
P.S. I tried searching the archives for this question but was unable to find a similar topic, probably because I didn't know which keywords to use.

What I read said taper a minimum of 3 days then start the next SSRI.
This is the end of the thread.
