I have PTSD which at this point in time the symptoms that are bothering me the most is the generalized anxiety and in that mostly this freeze lock that I experience and the obsessive thinking that goes with it all. I seriously need to get some stuff done. Psych prescribed Paxil before and Zeprexa but mostly both just made me tired and more numb. Anybody out there with PTSD that has any success on anything?

Hi there. I have been told by my pdoc that I have PTSD, but I have my doubts. Anyway, I had definitely been having a problem with that awful, feels-like-your-nerves-are-exposed generalized anxiety, and my doc put me on something called Buspirone (30 mg/day)...it has really seemed to help. I'm also on Trileptal and Prozac, but it wasn't until the Buspirone was added that the anxiety let up -- at least physically, which certainly helps with the mental aspects of it.
I hope you find something to help soothe you...
