Effexor and weight loss supplements

Posted by calaway on September 22, 2002, at 23:02:12

I just began effexor 2 weeks ago, I'm currently taking 75mg and feel good. In the past I have take some metabolism boosters for weight loss on a program. At the time I was taking Paxil and had no problems.

I'm looking for some feed back from anyone who has tried or has used supplements while taking effexor, and their effects as such.

I would be really careful, it depends if it has effedrine. Effecdrine works on the the neurotransmitter neuroephenefrine, and effexor inhibits neuroephenefrine, dopemine and seratonin. Paxil inhibits on seretonin. It would be a bad mix

Thanks Noelle,

I decided to try an ephedra free type and did very well on it. Gave me a boost of energy for the cardio and thats it. No jitter, racing heart, ect.
