I cannot sleep on effexor at all really, just brief periods of 10-20 minutes. I have been on it for a couple weeks now, did anyone else have this problem? If so, what can be done to help it.

Neither can I... on 150 mg, 3rd week.
I can sleep, but only after like 3am...
I'm going to begin exercising to counter it...
exercise deepens REM, making sleep more efficient/productive.
I'm not saying it could work for you... if Effexor is working, you may just want to add a sleeping pill, unless your doctor thinks coming off it is worth it.

What time of day do you take it? Have you tried adjusting the time?

I guess I would call the doc, then. I solved my problem by switching to an evening dose, an hour before bedtime.
This is the end of the thread.
