Depakote weight gain?

Hi,

I just started taking Depakote. Have many of you who have or are taking this drug gained weight?

Hi Audrey,

I have been on Depakote for a while now, but my dose has recently been increased. Since then I have put on a little weight, but nothing huge.
I think it all depends on how high the dosage is as to how much weight you gain. My doc says that, generally, if your dose is 1000mgs or under then you shouldn't experience too many problems.
