I've been on 400 mg of Wellbutrin and 75 mg of Zoloft a day for depression for about six months with no weight gain and relative success. Started feelingn depressed again so doctor switched to Prozac, and added 1 mg of Risperdal a day for problems with getting overly emotional and cutting myself. I immediately gained 7 pounds, without any difference in food intake or exercise. If I gain weight...I'll really be depressed! Messed up priorities I know but wondering if it's the Prozac (which I've since stopped taking) or the Risperdal.

I was put on Risperdal over 2 1/2 yrs ago. Gained 40 pounds in the two years I was on it. I have weight gains from antidepressants, but never to the exent that I did on this antipsycotic medication. Once I stopped the Risperdal, the weight came back off without any effort so I know it was definately the Risperdal that caused it.
