Is it possible that if a person's metabolism is off, they can get serotonin overdose syndrome eventhough they are not using any drugs.

>What do you mean by serotonin overdose syndrome ?
Do you mean serotonin syndrome ? That is not caused by an overdose of serotonin, if fact
the body regulates the amount of serotonin and precursors so you can't get "too much"

Yes I meant serotonin syndrome. Is is possible to experience the symptoms without having taken any of the drugs (like Prozac) Is it possible that your system is out of whack and create this problem.

Can the operation of serotonin receptor 5HT2 be only affected by drugs?.

People with carcinoid tumors can have bouts of over-production of serotonin. Usually this would cause sudden problems such as severe flushing and sudden massive diarrhea, together at the same time. Carcinoid tumors are incredibly rare.
What particular symptoms of the serotonin syndrome are of concern? Maybe there are other causes besides serotonin?
