Sounds to me like the wisest choice
would be to try a lithium increase, if not
by 300, maybe by 250. It's the blood level
that is important NOT the dose in each individual.As for conversion of Lamactal to Lithium,
since one is a GABBA drug and the other
an inositol drug - yeah apples and oranges,
unless you compare them phenomenologically.If you feel better with in increase in Lamactal
at a certain dose, and keep the lithium at
the present one, I suppose that would be the answer.It is a pain in the neck to have to play around
with drugs but sometimes you hit the right key.good luck;

(Shortly), Lamictal is an inhibiter of the "glutamate" release. Even if Lithium has a slight enhancing action on GABA, its main action is on "glutamate" too. Both Lamictal and Lithium are associated with a reduction of NMDA receptor-mediated calcium-sodium influx.
They have both their weakness and their forces. Taking the two is taking the best of the both worlds (even if they aren't totally different), as you can see.

Thanks for the correction and information;
excuse me for being vague - i dumped the Lamactal
in the GABBA category, thinking that Lithium
only has an effect on inositol. I am a general
reader however and you seem to be a doctor.And it shows - thanks again.
