I am thinking of changing to Celexa because I've heard it is "less active" and better for anxiety/panic attacks. I had very good luck with Paxil before, but it pooped out after I had my son 2 years ago. Anyone have any advice on changing to Celexa? Are the side effects less harsh than with Zoloft?

Hi,
Is med poop out a common problem for you? If so you might want to be evaluated for bipolar spectrum disorder just to rule that out. Have you ever been on a mood stabilizer + anti-depressant? As for celexa it didn't give me any startup anxiety, etc.
Hang in there,
Jon

All the SSRI's have a somewhat different bag of side effects that go with them and they affect people differently, too. Celexa caused a lot more heartburn and reflux than Zoloft did for me, but I could sleep a *lot* better on Celexa than Zoloft!

Hi
I found Zoloft to be extremely agitating (i was on 50mg for 2 months) - a side effect that never wore off for me. I tried it after I too pooped out on Paxil. Celexa was very benign for me. I'm currently trying a paxil + tegretol mix.
