I have tried a lot of different antidepressants all with negative side effects. I came accross Tianeptine through IAS and have deceided to try it, what info I'm looking for-has anyone gained weight on tianeptine (Stablon)? Weight gain has occurred with all antidepressant medication I've tried even ones that claim no weight gain (Welburtin).

I was on it for about 6 weeks (35mg/day) and experience no changes in my weight at all.
I had some minor weight gain on prozac, massive weight gain on remeron, weight loss on effexor, and no gain or loss on reboxetine.
Good luck.
Personally I find that tianeptine is a useless med...hell I still have two boxes of the stuff and I know I''l never use it. I really felt like I was taking sugar pills...

Hi Kimbini,
I didn't gain any weight on Tianeptine, but it didn't help my depression either. Perhaps I didn't give it a long enough trial. I did have some peculiar food cravings while on Tianeptine, but I didn't gain weight.
