Or regular Adderall? I find that 90 mg works best but my doc's not going to agree. She doesn't want to write over 60.
Thanks for any responses.

Phil,
I tried 40mgs of the XR once (not sure why), and I felt like a superball in a racket ball court for about 12 hours. Sorry I can't be of any help.
Good luck.Greg

Yes, I'm currently taking 90 mgs of Adderall XR. However, I have messed around a bit with the dosing schedul;e with pleasant results. I take 60 mgs in the morning at around 8:00, and then another 20 mgs at 1:30 or 2:00. I really just started the XR version and I'm not yet ready to give my evaluation of its efficacy, at least on me that is. Why do you think you need more?

If I take 60mg in the a.m., by noon I need a boost. My best schedule is 30a.m., 30 noon, and again at about 3. I'm a fast metabolizer and am taking 400mg Wellbutrin SR, 60mg Celexa, 3 mg Klonopin.
I think the Celexa more than the Klonopin makes me really knocked out, tired, sleepy, etc.
At 60mg Adderall, I get home from work and struggle to stay awake(5 pm). At 90 mg, I get home and feel like doing something and still go to sleep by 11.
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I like the Adderall more than Ritalin but it's worked okay.
Why are you at 90 mg, is that what you were taking w/ non XR Adderall? Thanks again,
Phil

No, the truth is I'm not really sure what the conversion is from Adderall to Adderall XR, inasmuch as the dosage is not equivalent. The reason I had to switch from the good old regular Adderall to the XR was because after about 5 years on the regular I developed a severe tolerance to the drug and was forced to discontinue. It just completrely lost its efficacy. My regular dose on the reg was 30 mgs 4 times a day. Atthe height of my poop out trouble I was taking 180 mgs a day.
None the less, what works for me may not work for you, though I do wish you good luck finding an effective pstim. I don't remember if you wrote what your dx was, was it ADD or something else? I'm sorry I can't explain more now, I'm just having some trouble putting together coherent thoughts.--James

Hi Phil,
I was just reading some of last week's posts, and I found this one regarding the high Adderall dose. I must mention that when I was on Celexa, it felt as if it completely negated the Dexedrine I was taking. I tried many different combinations and proportions of Dexedrine:Celexa, and that Celexa definitely numbed many of the good things about Dexedrine, like energy and motivation. No matter how high I raised the Dex or how low I kept the Celexa, I just couldn't benefit from Dex on that combination. So, although your metabolism is undoubtedly very different from mine (I'm actually a rather slow metabolizer), I just thought this information might be of help to you. Perhaps you might be able to lower the Adderall (or, at the very least, not raise it anymore) if you are able to lower Celexa.
