I have been diagnosed as bipolar and I just thought that I too much energy. The doctor put me on lamactil,zyprexa,and oxazepan. It's funny but I recall liking drugs better when they were illegal. I guess the fact that you could stop at any time was appealing ,as opposed to the neverending barage of "prescribed" chemicals. I have notified my Dr. that I fully intend to taper off my med.s I feel so useless to myself and family(wife and kids). I must come out from this fog and be somebody---anybody! I don't FEEL crazy but I suppose that time will tell. Somebody wish me well...Bobby in Georgia

i mean how did you end up seeing a doc if everything is okay

You asked for someone to wish you well. I empathise with you in your desire to "come out of this fog and be somebody.....anybody." And I wish you well.
I also was given psychotropic drugs and experianced what you referr to as "useless".
I am free from all drugs now and I want you to know that you can overcome them, for I am an example of a person that has "come out from this fog" as you have said.

Thanks Lou, your response was the kind of encouragement that I needed! I'm going to go off the meds real slow though..my Dr. says that if I reduce the dosage too fast I may have seizures. I took myself off of klonipin( sp;?).I was taking 3 blue ones at night for restless leg syndrome. It was tough but so was I! Thanks again, Bobby

If you were able to withdrawal from K, you have a good chance to withdrawal from the others, for K has been a very difficult benzodiazapine to withdrawal from by some people that I know. I also withdrew from klonopin, AKA clonazepam (sp).
It appears that the one ending in pan should be pam? If so, it is most likely a benzodiazepine like Klonopin. How many days has it been since you started your taper?

Hi Lou. Like I said...I'm goin real slow. so far, I've only cut back on the lamactil..from 300mg to 200mg at night...along with 10mg of zyprexa and 30mg of oxezapam. After a couple of weeks I will cut down to 100mg so on and so forth... After that,it will be time to cut out zyprexa.cursed be them all! HA! Bobby
