Has anyone taken Prozac and Topomax at the same time? I am taking both (25mg of Topomax) and not sure how much Prozac (but very low dose) and was wondering if anyone has taken this combination as well? I have a history of bulimia and manic depressive illness both of which are well under control. I am now 31, happily married and am trying to live a normal, stable life, but do struggle with my manic depressive illness on occasion. I recently went back on meds and realize that these things take time to work themselves out..sometimes never working themselves out!! ANyway, I just want to know if anyone has taken this combination of meds and has had sucess. I am also 50 lbs. overweight and am dealing with that as well. I am hoping that the topomax will help. I am worried about the side effect of the topomax slowing me down. Working full time and being a mom of two small kids, slowing down mentally isn't an option for me.... Would love to hear your thoughts...

Boy, I could have written your post. Same age, same life, similar issues. It has been 5 months since you posted that message, and I just started the same comnination at the same dosage. I am wondering how you are doing with it and if you are still taking both.

I have suffered alcoholism/drug addiction and was never diagnosed with bi polar. I went from one rehab to another...never figuring out why I could'nt do it and wanted to SO BAD!!! This has been going on since I was 16. I am now 38 and living a life I have never known. I was on Prozac for 2 years and they stopped it. They started a daily dose of Wellbutrin and Topomax....Thank you Lord!!! I have always been an overweight, unhappy, never good enough kinda gal....now I hold my head up, free from alcohol for the longest period I have known ( with the exceptions of my pregnancies.) Hang in with the meds...it took awhile playing w/ the dosage, but I am on the minimum now and HEY! I have lost 26lbs!!!I am engaged to a wonderful christian man and LIFE IS GOOD!

And for the other two posts: I am now on the same combo! How did it work for you too?
