Nardil insomnia suggestions

Posted by dlevine on June 30, 2002, at 6:35:17

Does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with insomnia caused by Nardil?

I currently take 50 mg of Trazadone at bedtime but still only sleep about 3-4 hours a night with frequent wake-ups. I have had success with Klonopin, but I do not like the idea of taking it every night (for fear of short-term memory problems).

I have also tried Melatonin, which works but decreases the antidepressant effects of Nardil.

Any other (non-benzo) suggestions?

This worked for me better than Trazodone, without hangover besides. Now I'm on 30 mg for AD, still works (for sleep, that is.)

Hi, Do you take remeron with Nardil. I was wondering about this for myself as I take 30-45 mg Nardil and have bad insomnia. My pdoc has me on 7.5mg Zyprexa for this, but it leaves me feeling numb, detached, and dull without motivation. I'm interested in your experience with Remeron and Nardil as I used to take a small amount of Remeron with celexa, and it would knock me right out, is it safe to take these two together - (Nardil plus very low dose remeron (quarter of a pill ~2mg)?
