Klonopin experience

Posted by geno on June 17, 2002, at 19:08:59

I just want to post this, you read my prior post, i have 60 klonopin from a friend. Today, i took 1mg of klonpin at 7am, and 1klonpin at 3pm. My experience was i felt very sedated, NO anxiety, but very bla, lethargic, no mood, or talkativeness. I suffer from social phobia, and this med is suppose to help. Well it doesnt make me social, just not nervous around people.
Would a psycostimulant added to klonopin help with social phobia and more out going?? Or should i swith to xanax, less sedative?

Hi Geno. I have found that Klonopin does the same thing to me, depressed, sedated. I have found that Ativan takes the edge off but doesn't leave me sleepy or lethargic. As far as helping with social phobia I have heard the best are Paxil and Zoloft. I think you and I both started Zoloft at the same time, did it work for you? It helps me alot if taken in small doses.

Geno, how long have you been taking Klonopin at that dosage? If it was just that one time, I don't think one day of taking Klonopin is enough of a trial to judge it's effectiveness in Social Phobia. I've read numerous abstracts about Clonazepam and SP and they've all shown it takes at least 1-2 weeks, and sometimes 6 weeks, before it starts to work.
