zoloft withdrawal alcohol

Posted by john D0e on June 16, 2002, at 13:20:49

I recently went off zoloft. My Dr. had me take 25mg for a week and then quit. I drank too much 3 days after I quit. Two days later I still have a horrendous hangover. I am lightheaded, nauseous, and tired. Is this all alcohol related or part zoloft w/drawal? Anybody ever experience this before?

Thanks

Hi john D0e,

I know what it's like to have withdrawal from SSRIs and it sucks and that sounds like what you are experiencing. First of all, you should call your doctor and tell him what you told us. You may want to try splitting the 25mg pills in half and take 12.5mg for another week and *then* stop or even use prozac which has a really long half-life to help with weaning off of the zoloft. You should discuss all of these ideas with your doctor.

Hang in there,
Jon
