Have a look at my web site at www.omega3.20megsfree.com for a natural treatment of OCD which seems to work in many cases.

I have tried every medication there is for OCD in the past 6 years. There is truely only one if OCD is the main problem for you. It's called Luvox. My doctor never recommended it. I researched it and brought it up to him during an appointment. I was on Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Buspar, etc. Take to your doctor about Luvox. Very bearable side effects.

Well, I guess what med is effective is different from person to person. For one person it might be Luvox, for another Prozac. For me for example, Prozac has helped tremendously with my OCD.

Will see how it goes and keep you guys posted.

Best regards.

I've tried Prozac with Luvox combo which resulted in the worsening of my OCD symptoms rapidly. My doc doesn't recommend luvox alone and would prefer to put me on prozac. I'm now taking trazodone + prozac + tianeptine along with cod liver oil to see how it goes.

2g of fish oil may not be enough.Cod liver oil contains omega-3 but too much vit A for high doses. How about buying omega-3 in Walmart and taking 5-10 g daily (total of EPA and DHA).Do not take omega-3 if on treatment for blood disorders)

I just bought a new fish oil this evening. One capsule contains 500mg EPA and 350 DHA. I took 1 tonight. Tomorrow I will take 2 capsules (1g EPA, 700mg DHA)......together with 80mg Prozac and 50mg Trazodone. Wonder what happens next?

I just got to keep on PRAYING......

Best regards.

Hello. You seem to be pretty desperate... Here's
something to try:

1. switch your morning dose of Prozac to
Trazodone
2. put Tianeptine away (and Prozac too)
3. get yourself hypericin and 5-htp - it should
allow you to cut half Trazodone dose
4. Good Luck (whatever you do)!

Hi, thanks for the advice. But I can't tolerate trazodone in the morning. I'm already being knocked out at night even on 50mg trazodone. I took that to make me sleep and to add to the anti-ocd properties of prozac.

I think I'll stick to prozac first. I've cut my tianeptine to 6.25 mg (split the tablet into half) per day to reduce the side effects of nervousness, shivers, twitches etc and it helps. I'm going to try out fish oil supplementation.

Hello, it's NutriPlus EPA 2000. I'm not sure whether you can find it at your location. Maybe you can search the internet. It's one big capsule, though....

Hi Doc,

I'm now been taking
80mg prozac (two capsules in morning and two capsules in evening)
6.25mg tianeptine (broke the tablet in half and took half daily with morning dose of prozac as a full tablet causes me to have racing heartbeats and bad tremors)
50mg trazodone at night for sleep and anti-ocd
3 g of omega 3 fatty acids

I SEEM to be SLIGHTLY better but can't confirm since it's only the 3rd day.

What do you think of my medication combo and the duration for maximum benefits?

The cost is expensive though.....which one should I cut down if I wish to save costs.....

Also, my doc says prozac works on serotonin 1 and 2 while tianeptine works on serotonin 3 and 4 via different mechanisms......wonder what he means.

Regards.

You are certainly taking a lot of medication-not unusual though in bad cases of OCD.Continue on a high dose of the fish oil for a few weeks and if you feel better you should talk to your dr about reducing some of your meds.Do not let the serotonin concern you too much.
