Is it ok to take neurtontin with lithium ?
I know neurontin shoots through the kidney...John

Yes,
but I found I needed to up my neurontin when I added li. I would get that jittery, neurontin withdrawal feeling about 2 hours earlier than usaul...The li "flushes" things out of the kidneys faster, hence, my neurontin went too.Any plans to add neurontin? It's a nice compliment to li, IMHO. Good for pain too.

Thanks for the info. I was having severe breakthrough
anxiety due to a situation. My pdoc isn't available
and I took some Zyprexa + neurontin which solved the
problem. Unfortunately it is inducing some derealization.I did notice the neurtontin wore off a couple hrs quicker
than usual. I asked my pdoc about taking Topamax and he
said not to due to the kidney interactions.John

Yeah, it's okay. My doc even likes the two together. I take 2400 mg of neurontin with my lithobid. Funny what Chloe said about seeming to need more. I may have experienced something like that myself, but things seem to have evened out. I never thought oabout the two effecting eachother and don't know why I didn't.
