Effexir XR at night = more energy!

Posted by sid on April 18, 2002, at 7:26:13

Hi all,
I'm just reporting to those who asked me to...
I've been taking my 75mg of Effexor XR per day at dinner time for 4 days (today will be 5th), and I am feeling so much better than the past month, when I took it in the morning.

For those who did not read the previous posts on this... I've been on it for 4.5 months, and I was fine, except for the last month or so where I developed an intense fatigue during the day. Then at night I had trouble to sleep. Now the sleep is fine, and my energy is much better during the day - I get up early in the morning! I used to sleep through my stopping the alarm clock and then continue to sleep until I realized it was late and I had wasted part of my day. Then at night I needed zaleplon to fall asleep. No matter what I tried during that month, it didn't help. Until my doc suggested I change the timing of my dose intake. How about them apples? So no Wellbutrin addition for now.

I hope it lasts for a while!

Hi Sid,

That happened to me when I was taking Zoloft. I would take it faithfully in the morning and within a few hours -YAWN!, then I would be wirey later in the day. I started to take it at bedtime as an experiment and I slept a little better and was less drowsy the next day.

Sid, I've recently been switching slowly to nighttime myself. I'm up to 12 pm (from 6am) and now I am exhausted in the afternoon and evening, but wake up in the middle of the night for a few hours. Hopefully I am transitioning to a better expereience as well.
