I've been involved in several recent discussions on Lithium augmentations.
I believe that Lithium works by blocking the liver from metabolizing the anti-depressant.
That's what one psychiatrist told me.Anyone have any other ideas.

That is untrue. Lithium isnt even metabolised in your liver. The other mood stabilisers, the anticonvulsants are metabolised in your liver. But not lithium. Lithium shouldnt block ADs. At least not from a liver perspective. Lithium could make some more depressed, screwing up the antidepressant effect someone was getting from an AD. But thats a different kind of thing.
