Has anyone had experience with this med. does it cause weight gain like rememeron. It is suppose to be good for sleep. Any side effects?

hi gene,i was on trimipramine (surmontil) in the late 80s for depression,anxiety.my dose was 225mg for therapeutic effect and 150mg a day for maintenance. i had the best sleep ever.deep and consistant all the time i was on it. i would strongly recomend starting at a low dose - 25mg and work your way up. yes i gained some weight and had dry mouth but this was a small price to pay in exchange for the sleep i desperately needed. started feeling better after about 2-3 weeks. hope this helps.
