Serzone - difficult in concentration

Posted by petters on February 21, 2002, at 20:50:35

Hi...

Is there anybody having problem with concentration, while on Serzone?

Does it get better after some weeks, months?
Is there any add on stratergi to aliviate this side effect?

Sincerely...//Petters

(from my post on another thread)

Either Lamictal 150 mg, or Zyprexa 5 mg
seems to be alleviating Serzone cognitive
defects on my latest Serzone trial.

Lamictal (150 mg for me) may be be enhancing glutamate conductance
hindered by Serzone blocking the alpha-1 noradrenaline receptor.

Zyprexa (5 mg for me) may be enhancing acetylcholine and noradrenaline
conductance by antagonizing the histamine 3 receptor.

I'm not sure which is helping. But I seem to be a much
smarter person now that I take both medicines. Neuronton
and Topamax don't make me stupid either. ;)

Regards.

I only took Serzone at night and it still made me sleepy all day long. My concentration was definitely effected by Serzone. I was only taking it as an added AD to my Prozax, and to help with sleep.

Now I take Wellbutrin and Prozac and take Xanex when I can't sleep.
