Remeron Withdrawl???

Posted by Optimistic on February 2, 2002, at 8:13:51

I have been on Remeron 37.5 mg for several months. My doc and I decided to stop it so 2 nights ago I took 30 mg. at night and also took 30 mg. last night. This morning I woke up with severe trembling and shaking of my entire body that I could not control. I took .25 mg of Klonopin and it helped a bit. ( I take .25 Klonopin in the AM and PM ). What is going on? Is this a withdrawl reaction and if so what should I do? Please help!!!

Hi.

Just curious,
How do you dose (in tablets) 37.5 mg ?
I remember taking 30 mg tablets.
I guess it seems curious that such a small drop from 37.5 mg
to 30 mg would cause substantial withdrawl effects?
What are your thoughts about this?

Duh, you must be splitting a 15 mg tablet
to get 7.5 mg and adding that to 30 mg = 37.5 mg.
And to think i have an engineering degree.

Anyways, my opinion is that such a small dosage
change is unlikely to cause massive withdrawl
side effects. If you want to smooth thigs out
you can ping pong 37.5 mg and 30 mg every other
day and then drop to 30 mg if you are feeling
comfortable.

> Yes, that is exactly how I get 37.5 mg.I take a 30 plus 1/2 of a 15. Thanks for the suggestion..Maybe I'll give that a try or maybe I'll just ride out the shakes at 30.

Optimistic,

How was remeron for you--did it work for your depression?
What side effects did you have? Why are you stopping
it?

>It was marginal at best. Partial relief of depression and helped with sleeping. Left me feeling lethargic and unmotivated. I am still searching for the AD that will work the way I hope it will.
