Hi,
I am wondering if it is okay to take desipramine and buproprion (Wellbutrin) together?
I understand that desipramine is often added to SSRIs, but I haven't heard of it being added to Wellbutrin.
Has anyone done this?

That is a safe combination in which norepinephrine is boosted twice, and dopamine is boosted once. That combination may be efficacious in many affective disorders.

Thanks. I think my psychiatrist is going to prescribe low dose desipramine with wellbutrin 300 mg. The wellbutrin is working somewhat for my ADD, but I need a higher dose, which isn't possible due to a little tachycardia and tics...
I was actually more concerned about possible increased side effects due to the combination. I'm not too worried about too much NE or something...

Desipramine has a reputation for being the most benign (side-effect-wise) of the tricyclics. Its probably better than an SSRI in lack of side-effects. I'm hopeful about the combination for you.
