I know it works well for a lot of people, but there are those it does not agree with at all. I was extremely anxious and I think I went into an agitated depression. Just keep in touch with your doctor if it's causing you to feel suicidal. I was fortunate enough to figure out what was going on before doing anything stupid and stopped the Wellbutrin at once.
Take care.

Hi,I agree with Dinah. I am taking Wellbutrin-but just a *pinch*. Too much does make me agitated. Tell your doctor about all this. It helps me, but I am sensitive to meds-you just may need to reduce the dose (maybe a *lot*).

This might be a sign that you are predisposed to respond to serotonin as opposed to Wellbutrin's norepinephrine. But you probably have already tried a serotonergic drug and failed it though. Give us more information as to what medicines you have tried, please.

Hi,
I'm taking 20mg of Prozac, which seems to work just fine. I asked my doctor to add Wellbutrin to counteract prozac's sexual side effects, so for a few weeks I've taken 150mg then upped to 300mg.

Jane,
That's awful!! I hope that the suicidal feelings totally subside, and SOON! I've been on Wellbutrin 100mg SR for about a month, and after meeting with my pyschiatrist yesterday, started taking 200mg. So far, I haven't noticed any ill side effects, but am now a bit worried.
Definitely stay in close contact with your doctor; I have felt more emotional generally over the last several weeks, but think it started before going on Wellbutrin. What dose are you at? Could it be an interaction with any other meds you're on, or other factors be adding to the feelings that it's giving you (post Holidays blues, stresses, etc)?
I really hope this gets resolved for you. No one should have to feel suicidal.
Good luck and please keep us all posted,
Jason

Jason,
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most people taking Wellbutrin don't have any problems with it. I started feeling agitated immediately but tried to wait it out as my pdoc told me it usually got better. I didn't mean to scare anyone, just to alert people to be aware that Wellbutrin induced agitation and suicidal thoughts should be taken seriously.

Jane,
Maybe the Norepinephrine kick is not for you. I've had to add Klonopin 1mg to my mix with the Celexa and the Wellbutrin. I guess I need more dopamine. Now I get more seratonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. I'm not sure that that helps at all for you.
If you are feeling suicidal call your doctor immediately. Don't mess with it. There are ways your doctor can help you. The thing is you have to be willing to pick up the phone even if it seems like it is a million miles away and it weighs 3 tons.
Take Care,
Simcha

> When I started Wellbutrin SR 150mg it put me in extreme anxiety- no crying just really anxiuos, jittery. That was the last SR pill I took. I had to wean on the Wellbutrin slowly 75mg IR once a day to 3 x aday then 100mg IR.
I'm not having any trouble with it now.
You know what feels right and what doesn't-
trust your own judgement. Keep the Dr informed as to what you are doing.

Thankyou for you advice. Simcha your story really hit home, so I've decided to stop taking it. Luckily i'm taking 20mg of prozac too and i'm actually feeling mildly less suicidal now !
