I have muscle pains/weakness in the limbs (arms and legs), cold hands and nervus ulnaris probs.
Could this be related to hypothyroidism ? My doc checked the achilles tendon reflexe which was slow.

The reflex is called, "hung up reflex" ... people with hypothyroidism have a slow relaxtion phase of the deep tendon reflexes. Also the perception of coldness, weakness is common. These are all from decrease metabolism. You may or may not notice weight gain, apathy, swelling of the legs .... pretibial edema, loss of the outer third of the eyebrow, orbital swelling.
Time to get aboard the synthroid train.

Well, paxil withdrawal usually doesn't persist more then 7 to 10 days, although some people report a prolonged withdrawal syndrome .... which is I believe is rare. Can you get a thyroid blood test checked .... TSH and T4 level? That will tell the status of the thyroid.

The thyroid check is in work but results coming in january. Is nervus ulnaris/carpal-tunnel-syndrome a possible sign of hypothyroid-probs ? I have weight gain (allways hungry) but I think its from paxil and perhaps a atypical depression. I dont have oedemas and no swelling at the gland but I have awfull pain in the limbs. This makes me angry and frustrated.

Wait for the thyroid results--what tests were done? Also, BTW, synthroid is not the only option. There are a couple of newer brands that are FDA approved. See www.thyroid-info.com
I did have muscle/joint pain (especially in the ankles) when my hypothyroid was bad. Also had edema in lower legs. Interesting about the achilles thing. I didn't know that. I did have tight achilles tendons --think I still do.

Thanks spike and noa
TSH and T4 will be tested as I remember right. And rheumatic factors too. What is BWT ? I am not used in this english shortage (blood ....test ?).
Why are muscles/joints and tendons could be involved in hypothyroidism ? I couldnt read of an answer.> Wait for the thyroid results--what tests were done? Also, BTW, synthroid is not the only option. There are a couple of newer brands that are FDA approved. See www.thyroid-info.com

I guess so, I didn't know ... had to look it up
"Other central nervous system manifestations of hypothyroidism include peripheral neuropathy, with paresthesias and entrapment neuropathies (e.g., carpal or tarsal tunnel syndromes). In more advanced disease, patients may have gait difficulties, signs unlikely to suggest hypothyroidism in the elderly. Special sense disorders include blurred vision, diplopia, tinnitus, hearing loss, and anosmia."

Get that TSH level result from you doctor, it should only take a day or two.
You will be better soon.
