I'd like to hear anybody's opinion on the tolerablity of MAOIs relative to Tricyclics and SSRIs (diet restrictions notwithstanding). I took Anafranil for awhile and it was horrific. Are the MAOIs like that also?

I think they're pretty easy to tolerate; I had trouble tolerating most TCAs, whereas I didn't mind MAOIs much. They do generally cause a lot of sleep disruption. Orthostatic hypotension is very common, so make sure you drink lots of fluids. Sexual dysfunction and weight gain are common with Nardil but not so common with Parnate, but Parnate may carry a greater risk of hypertensive episodes.
