anxiety

Anxiety is most often due to the flight or fight response system. If you suffer from anxiety, it will effect your in many ways, cause depression, social interaction.
My prblem is that i could never feel "in the middle" between feeling either overstimulated/panicy or too sedated. When i feel in the middle, i feel much more outgoing, calm, peacefull or social. Once im at this point, that one cup of coffee could put me over the edge.
I feel that a sedative/stimulating med along with a benzo is most effective. For example, take remeron with welbutrin or desipramine. Both latter are dopamine/norepinephine reuptake. Both a stimulating/sedative med would counteract eachother, hopefully making one "feel in the middle" at this point, the user could take a benzo if he or she feels too stimulated. Then in retro spect, if one feels too sedated, he or she could drink down a cup of coffee.

This is my opinon.

My theory is that anxiety could be due to either loss of gaba reception, excess dopamine or norepinephrine.
caffiene, stimulants, release dopamine and nor, from the presnyaptic nerve cells. Meds such as welbutrin, desipramine, block the reuptake of the neurotransmittion, resulting in more NEruo's in the syanpse.

Further more, antiphycotics could be used if one has extreem excess dopamine production.

thanks for the info. maybe the reason I am made worse by AD's is because I have too many of those neorotransmitters?? So far meds which can also work for anxiety have had the least worsening effect for me. paxil i felt not too horrible on it and at one point as if i was going to recover but that went away. and zyprexa medium dose seemed to not make me feel too horrible. hard to remember but it seemed less mind torture but always very tired and no motivation to even do simple things. but at least it was not extremely painful to be alive as it is now sometimes.

Always important to keep in mind that we do not all react the same to medications. What is sedating for one person might be activating for another, etc.
