hi. I have been wanting to stop my zyprexa which I have been almost 4 weeks on. I have been feeling extremely horrible on it. so yesterday I didn't take my 10mg dose. I have been on 10mg for 3 days raised from 5mg previously. Since the dosage raise I have been feeling worse. Today I think I am feeling worse. Hard to tell. My heart is beating faster. Could this just be withdrawl from the medication? Is feeling worse at first very common with withdrawl from medications? I have been on the zyprexa for almost 4 weeks. Please reply.

You could be having day-to-day fluctuations
that are not med related. I get happy on some
day and cranky,anxiety on others, and I don't
always attribute it to my medication.Stopping the Zyprexa too quickly can cause rebound
anxiety and insomnia.Btw, did you ever get on another med choice like
Lamictal or Parnate or Selegiline? Last time you
posted your pdoc wanted to try Risperdal which
is supposedly less sedating than Zyprexa and may
help in that regard.-john
