A friend has a problem staying awake during the day. He takes both Depakote and Zyprexa. Do you think that Zyprexa could be part of His problem? He also takes Celexa. I think he needs to have his medications reevaluated but he isn't concerned. What has been your experience with these three drugs?Rosa

From my experience, those are all sedating medications. I can' t imagine being on all three at once. Perhaps a switch to Prozac from the Celexa? As always, something he should discuss with his pdoc...
Good luck.

Don't have any direct experience with Depakote (but I bet it is sedating because at one point my pdoc was going to give it to me and I have agitation and anxiety, need to be "calmed".
I've been on both Zyprexa, which I'm still on to help me SLEEP at night! It is indeed sedating and if your friend is taking it in the am, this could definitely be a factor in his problem staying awake during the day.
I also tried Celexa, and unlike many people (who find it neither sedating nor activating), I found it sedating - I had to take it at night. It also gave me headaches and I rarely get them.
