T3 vs. T4 augmentation ?

Posted by ben on August 12, 2001, at 8:15:41

What are your experienes with T3 or T4 in augmentation of an AD (especialy SSRI) ? My thyroid level is normal, but this doesnt seem to be factor of response. I read that T3 sould be more potential than using T4 ?! What are the side effects and how long should you wait for a possible kick in ? I pooped out of Paxil after several weeks....now experiencing mood swings gain (depression to euthymia). Tried Lithium this year in combo with Celexa but had toom much side effects. What about thyroid side effects ?
