Diagnosed with PTSD and depression, also have anxiety and anhedonia. This has gone on for longer than I want to remember. Taking Prozac, Zyprexa, and have ordered Adrafanil. (How long does it take to get the overseas orders generally?) Any suggestions for me? I am becoming so TIRED of this.

When I started taking Zyprexa it helped greatly with the obsessive, racing thoughts that bogged down my head but I still had anhedonia/apathy problems for a couple of years. The only thing that ever helped me in that area is Mirapex. It is a dopamine agonist that is primarily prescribed for Parkinson's Disease but has AD qualities and really lifted my anhedonia. I'm almost back to a regular life thanks to pursuing every lead I could find. At first my pdoc was reluctant to prescribe Mirapex for me because he had never heard of its AD qualities but I found a couple of studies on the web that I showed to him and we gave it a try.
Just something to consider even though it's not very common.

Thanks Chris. Mirapex sounds interesting. Do you remember where those sites on the web are? Would like to check them out. What was the dosage your pdoc put you on?

try these:
http://www.biopsychiatry.com/pramipex.htm
http://www.parkinson.org/mxdepress.htm
It's recommended to start out slow and titrate up because a lot of people have nausea problems with Mirapex. I'm up to 1 mg 4 times a day. 3-6 mg/day in divided doses seems to be the common dosage.
Hope this helps somewhat,
Chris
