Adrafinil sometimes is a good mix with amisulpride, providing energy, alertness, and motivation. In general an arousal agent of some kind, depending on what you respond to goes well with amisulpride.

Adrafinil is only available overseas.

Dosage is 150mg/day to 600 on up. Start low.

Thanks!

Any contraindications you are aware of? I'm still on Celexa 20 mgs with my Amisulpride

Craig,

Adrafinil doesn't have much published about it on drug-to-drug interactions. Others have taken it with SSRIs without incident. I think CarolAnn used it with Celexa without out incident but you might want to give a shout out to her to be safe. Of course start low (75mgs/day) and go slow.

Not recommended for those with liver impairment. Liver function should have been checked before one uses it and periodically afterwards if use is continued.

One report on this board of a hypertensive crisis between Adrafinil and an MAOI.

No problem between adrafinil and amisulpride.

Hope this helps and good luck,

AndrewB

Thanks again...

And I'll be able to contribute to your Amisulpride study pretty soon. I've been at 50 mgs. for three weeks, but I'm still pulling the Celexa out of the mix. I'll know more in a couple of weeks.

I'm wondering about any adverse reactions between adrafinil & serzone. Has anyone tried the combo?
I'm hoping the adrafinil will help with serzone sedation.
Thanks,
Sunny

FWIW, I've been taking Serzone -- all in the daytime -- with 100 mg of modafinil, and they really seem to go together well. As you probably know, modafinil (brand Provigil/Alertec in U.S./Canada) is the primary metabolite of adrafinil and thought to provide most of the theraputic value. The combo really seems to balance out side effects (e.g., P fights S sedation and S keeps any P agitation at bay), while the *theraputic* effects are nicely synergystic.

I added the Provigil initially to counter Serzone fatigue, but the combo clicked so well (as long as I don't exceed 100mg Provigil too often) that I stayed with it. There are possible interactions between the two meds mediated by the CYP450 enzyme system, so monitoring is advisable. (Heck, monitoring advisable if you're taking just about *anything* with Serzone, including non-psychotropics.) ESPECIALLY with adrafinil -- which requires quarterly liver function tests -- you'd better be cautious. (I'm not sure how adrafinil is metabolized.)
