I tried L-Dopa once for depression. It may work okay for some people as it is the precursor for dopamine but there may be some problems.
L-Dopa can cause bad-side effects, particularly nausea, even though the available formula's particulry Sinemet is combined with a drug that inhibits the breakdown of the drug before it reaches the brain.
People who take it for Parkinsons disease need to increase the dosage after a few months leading to increased side-effects . I think the film awakenings shows this phenomenon occuring with Robert Deniro's character.
The reason why you didnt get a response is I doubt many people have taken L-Dopa for depresison and I should imagine it would be hard to get a script because it isnt licensed or indicated for the treatment of depression.
Why the interest in L-Dopa?

Since L-Dopa is supposed to be a powerful
dopaminergic drug i wanted to know more about it; i was also wondering if someone on this board could share some experience about that.....
Thanks for listening
