I was taken off xanax (.5 a day) and put on 1mg of klonopin instead. My doc also raised my dose of neurontin to 900mg a day. I am now having spurts of EXTREME hyperness. Its to the point where i cant sit still to do my work. im dancinf around he office. My co workers are tellin me they need to tie my down. But then ill all of the sudden be extremely calm. kind of sedative. then hyper again. its driving me crazy. i cant do anything to get rid of my energy. My brain will not stop. I am waiting for a return phone call from my doc. Now i am crying and sad. comptemplating taking all of my medications at one time. right now i feel overwhelmed and i can't deal wih this . can someone give me some words of wisdom.....please????? I need them. thanks queenb Also, my eyes are having a hard time focusing on things and i feel tired even though i am energetic. it doesn't make sense.

Remember this is CHEMICALS! Chemicals that are changing patterns in your brain. You are not doing any off this, don't feel guilty or sorry for not being able to sit still. It is just a roller coaster, when they wear off it'ii be alright. Call your doc's nurse again, tell them it is urgent.

YES, BUT I JUST STOPPED THE KLONOPIN. I KEPT WAKING UP LAST NIGHT. MY DOC WANTS ME ON DEPAKOTE AND NEURONTIN. I READ THAT DEPAKOTE COULD BE VERY BAD FOR YOUR LIVER AND PANCREAS.I HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF PANCREAS DAMAGE DUE TO DRINKING. NOT ENOUGH TO BE DOCUMENTED THOUGH. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE ON THE DEPAKOTE ISSUE. I HAVEN'T STARTED TAKEN IT YET EVEN THOUGH I WAS SUPOSSED TO.

In yr last post you sounded a little (hypo) manic, for which Depakote is the drug of choice since it is quick-acting. Anti-manic doses (900-1800mg) are much lower than those used for epilepsy, meaning organ damage is less of an issue (tho' others will know more on this...). The book in front of me says: "Patients with liver disease shld not take Depakote. A liver damaged alcoholic shld be monitored (for Depakote blood-levels)." Doesn't mention the pancreas.
Neurontin is regarded as potentially a good augmenting AED & may help with any anxiety/insomnia probs (not sure what yr dx is).
