I've changed my tapering plan from alternating days of use and non use at 37.5mg, to 18 mg every day for 2 weeks, Then I'll try 9mg for 2 weeks, then end.
I make this change because at the end of 1st day of no use, and most of 2nd day no use, was causing me terrible headaches, anxiety, and ill feelings. I had already worked past every other day alternations. Also after thinking about the up and down ride my body was taking due to using the med 1 day then skipping 2, it seemed to be too erratic, the amount of medication bouncing up and down. This method will smooth out the dose in the body, while lowering it.
Even though it's a pain to open and divide the agent, I think it's a better method of tapering. Today is my 3rd day with this regime, and I'll know soon if any ill effects arise.

James here....Good idea. Given that Effexor is short acting, taking it every day instead of every other day makes more sence.
