i am really concerned about TD with prolonged use of Risperidal. i only take 1mg a night but i do not want to get muscle twitches and stuff. has anyone heard? Also, does Geodon cause weight gain and TD?

I'm taking 0.5mg and did get muscle twiches. This went away after a while. Risperdal in considered very safe under 5mg/day. I don't think TD should bother you on such low a dose. Weight gain does occur.
If you are really concerned, try Zyprexa: more weight gain, nearly no TD.
Seroquel causes no weight gain/loss or TD. You might give it a try.
