Any suggestions: zyprexa (yes, I'd like to switch to geodon, maybe) Anyway...helped stabilize my mood swings, but someone mentioned (Andrew)adding lamictal as I may be BPII (?)
I am wondering if adding this to zoloft (50mg) and 2.5mg of zyprexa would be of any benefit. Deep depressions are more prevalent than the hypomania. Of course I would start low and go slow with the lamictal.

Hi Katrina,
Adding Lamictal to Zoloft and Zyprexa may be helpful. I take risperidone (similar to Zyprexa), Zoloft, and Lamictal. Among these three, I started Lamictal first, and it greatly helped with mood swings and anxiety, and a little with general depression. So, if your mood swings could use more help, I think Lamictal would be worth a try.

thanks for the response. How was the lamictal in side-effect profile?

I want to start lamictal, too...

I never had side-effects from Lamictal. I take 200 mg twice a day. It gets rid of my OCD, oddly enough. I usually hear from others that there are few or no side-effects in their use of it.

Does lamictal give you energy or sedate you?

It neither gives one energy or sedates you. I think a majority of Lamictal users will say this is true.
But on the off chance that it does make you tired, there is always Wellbutrin or Provigil.
