Can someone help me with a small query? I take only 37.5mg daily, break a tab in 2 parts, & can't continue past 6-8 weeks(start to feel weird symptoms), clearly no longer have depression .What is the chemical in Effexor that gives me an instant lift &"normal" happiness when I first take it after a break? I want that part alone without the AD.

I may be wrong here but I was told that Effexor is really just a serotonin reuptake inhibitor until higher dosages than 75mg are reached. My NON-MD opinion is that any SSRI would do the same and perhaps without some of the side effects..
