from paxil to serzone....

Posted by Oneida on November 9, 2000, at 0:40:03

I recently switched from paxil to serzone because I found that the paxil really decreased my sex drive. I've only been on the serzone for 3 weeks but I've been having a reallyhard time. i'm mre agigtated and flying into rages and angry outbursts. Is this normal? Also headaches, dizziness and also nightmares.i've had the nightmares since i started paxil so can anybody help me understand? Also i've been more weepy too. I'd appreciate any input.

I had a similar experience in the first 3-4 weeks of serzone, but then the adverse effects went away.

But I also wonder how quickly you discontinued the Paxil, because it could be that you are having withdrawal symptoms, too.

I am taking Paxil again. I was on it last year and then stopped taking it because I thought that I was okay and could handle my depression and anxiety without it. < Of course, I was WRONG! > I have been in a relationship for four months and I recently started taking Paxil again about 4 weeks ago. I have noticed that my sex drive is way down. I cannot get stimulated or aroused by anything anymore. We have tried so many things. We are both 22 and we had an amazing sex life before. Now it seems as if my desire is gone and my ableness to become aroused has long since vanished. I am wondering if there are any tips, maybe a different drug that is for Anxiety AND depression. Maybe a drug I can take with the Paxil to help my sexual drive. This is hurting me a lot and I am afraid to take a lot of new drugs because of all the side effects. HELP, Please!!!!

Myra, you've got a lot of alternatives. Look thru the archives to get some ideas and put your pdoc to work. Wellbutrin, Remeron, Serzone, TCA's, the benzodiazapines are all possibilities. Best of Luck to you.
