I have been taking 200mg of Wellbutrin for depression for about 6 months. I also take 0.25mg Xanax at night.
Recently I've been experiencing terrible anxiety and sometimes need a xanax every 4 hrs just to function!
I had a sinus infection and back problems lately and was given vicodin. I never took more than one to one and one half tablets a day, but could this cause the anxiety or could it be the wellbutrin? I've read that effexor is good for depression and anxiety - do you think that would help me? I'd like to stop the xanax too, I'm afraid of becoming dependent.
\Thank you for your help

> Xanax is one of the worst things you can be on. A doctor wrongly prescribed that for me back in 1996 and I nearly committed suicide. It zonks you out but leaves you with a hangover affect.
I urge you to come off Xanax. I have a friend who is a pharmacist and she agrees - it is a bad pill. Try Zoloft for a while, if your doctor agrees.
