Well.. I'll start with Gynea..
I have got some early cancerous cells, which will be removed by a process called Loop Diathermy... quite a simple procedure (but no nookie for 6 weeks!). Feeling positive and not really worried now. It's so much better to get these things found and sorted now.. Any females out there avoiding PAP Smears - Please please go.. Yeah they're awful, but whe things are found early, it's alot less stress and pain then anything being found later.
Also saw Pdoc.. he's taken me straight off the Propanalol due to my terrible swollen feet, and almost constand pins and needles in hands and feet. Blood pressure had dropped to 90/60 too. He's has changed the propanalol to Thioridazine (10mg in the morning, 10mg at lunch time, and 25mg at night). he said this should calm the temper the serzone is causing, and also help me get some decent sleep.
He didn't increase my serzone dose (he said he wanted to) as I'm still getting nausea, so he wanted to take it slow.Feeling quite postive again - but could this be due to a day away from work, and soending some ncie time alone. Or could it be shock from the farce that was last nights England Soccer match!!! ;o) (For those interested, England were 2 - 0 up in 18 minutes, and ended up losing 2 - 3!!)
Take care all... (Tina, how u today... hope things are a bit brighter... I'm sending some positive vibes your way)
Nikki

Nikki,
I'm REALLY glad to hear that things aren't life threatening, that must be a major relief to you. I know it is to me. You sound so much more positive and upbeat and I'm real jazzed about that!
Sounds like the doc figured out the problem with your feet right away, hopefully it will subside quickly. I used to have a similar problem with mine, but it was due to working in snow up to my shoulders all day long. My feet would freeze and them swell when I warmed them up, sure was miserable!
I hope this new med will help you get some well deserved sleep, and with that I will wish you many nights of...
Peaceful and sweet dreams!
Hugs,
Greg

>Hey Nik:
My life is good right now. No problems for the minute. Got a dr's appt tomorrow and I'll let you know.
I am very glad that your prognosis is good. You are absolutely right about catching things early. Saves a lot of grief later.
Well, I can basically echo everything Greg said so I won't continue rambling but I'm very relieved for you. I hope your feet get back to normal quickly. Love ya--TinaNikki,

Hi Nikki - Thanks for letting us know how things are going. I'm pretty sure that's the procedure my daughter had a couple of years ago & she's been just fine since : ) You're in my thoughts. Continue to take good care of yourself.

Nikki,
I'm so happy to hear that minor surgery will take care of things for you!
I had cancerous cells on my cervix that had not invaded. I was very frightened mostly because I thought my mother had died of the same thing at age 46, but later found out that she had uterine cancer. I had a LEEP Loop Electro-E???? Procedure. I have had good PAP tests ever since. This was in 1992.
I am glad you are spreading the word to get things checked out early. Cancer is scarey for sure, but not always lethal. Cervical cancer is almost 100% curable when it is caught early. Renee N

Renee NNikki, I'm so glad you're going to be OK! I had cryosurgery in my early 20's for dysplasia. You've convinced me to ask for another pap test soon!

In the UK we all wmoen once they start having sex, or go on the pill, (so most girls start between 16 and 21) have PAPS every 2 - 3 years. You get contacted by your GP, and asked to go in for one... When I tried to avoid one once, my nurse refused to renew my birth control pills till I agreed to one!!!
It's just I ahve friends who ignore the letters, and refuse to ahve one... I get so angry with them!Rant over!!!!

Hi Nikki~
Best of luck to you. I also had LEEP surgery in '92. My 'then' husband infected me w/human papilloma virus (also called HPV). If left untreated, the cervical dysplasia (abnormal cervical cells) has a good chance of eventually becoming cervical cancer.
My (unfaithful) husband & I have since divorced.
Most GYN's in the US do not give a Rx for birth control pills unless you have a full pelvic exam, including pap smear. Probably a good idea for me, since once a person contracts HPV, it forever remains in their body, even if it is asymptomatic. I don't know if you have this, it is incredibly common, practically an epidemic. If you are affected, it pays to educate yourself on the subject.Zannah
