Just curoius, Cam, as to where you reside in Canada - that is, if you don't mind sharing.

Let's see, is it MooseJaw? MedicineHat?

No, it is suburban Edmonton, Alberta, I believe.

I am Tina. Acadian Canadian from a wee fishing village on the east coast. I consider Toronto home, but right now Cam & I are psychobabble neighbours. I live 3 hours away from him in Calgary.

I believe Noa is right. If it isn't a suburb, it's a small town outside of Edmonton. I'm sure he'll let us know.

Are you Canadian Tina?

Janice

Cam actually lives in a trailer outside a small Eskimo fishing village high up in the Northern Territories. He posts on the Babble more in the summer, because it never gets dark there.

DLS - I'm thinking of changing my name to Waldo or Carmen San Diego. As long as you don't send any lawyers after me (my advice is friendly, not professional - **disclaimers I do give** - ALWAYS check with your doc before acting upon any of my advice).....Does that protect me?

Anyway, sue me and you can have my debts (paranoid today, aren't I?).

I live 15 minutes outside of Edmonton in a little city called Spruce Grove - please, no stalkers, I couldn't handle the stress ;^)

The guy from the sticks - Cam W.

And no, I do not know your friend who lives in Toronto! (an inside joke for the Canadians out there). - Cam W.

You shouldn't have told us that. Didn't you see the movie "What about Bob".

Hey, Janice and Cam,

Maybe I know Janice's friend in Toronto. I live in Rochester -- 60 miles south across Lake Ontario -- otherwise known as the hinterlands of New York State. Or maybe it's the badlands. A lot of times it feels more like the Arctic Circle. Nobody visits here. Not even the Canadians. They're too smart.

Only three or four of us live here anyway.

It could be worse, tho. We could be in Buffalo.

>Thanks, Cam,

You've satisfied my curosity. Didn't mean to be a catalyst for paranoia and there'll be no lawyers on your trail as far as I'm concerned (even though I do work with more of them than I care too on a daily basis - most of the ones I know exemplify the addage that "egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity").

I live in the 'wilds of north Idaho' just a 'stones throw' from the BC border (60 miles south, actually). I do travel to our state capitol of Boise frequently and usually get curious responses from coworkers there when I tell them it takes less time for me to drive to Calgary than to Boise.

Am still grappling with depression and mood instability. The psychiatrist says he can't decide whether I'm bipolar or have adult ADD. Sure wish he'd make up his mind.

The Wellbutrin SR seems to have 'pooped out' and neither the neurontin or depakote he gave me did anything other than add to the problems.

I'm hypopituitary (with resulting hypothyroidism and hypogonadism), I'm taking thyroid supplements and used to supplement testosterone until prostate cancer was diagnosed. The endo says testosterone would help the depression and moods, the psychiatrist says he doesn't think so - what's a guy to do???? I have found an article by a psychosocial oncologist at the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa who theorizes that a psychological condition of Apathy can exhibit itself in hypopituitary patients. His recommendation is that if buproprion doesn't resolve the apathy then it's appropriate to add a stimulant. So far, even though I've shared that information with the local psychiatrist, I can't get him too interested in the protocol. Now I'm saving my pennies for round trip air fare to Tampa.

At any rate, I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your input here. You and the other regulars who post here do the rest of us a very valuable service.

Be well,
dls

DLS,

The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute at USF is one of the best, IMHO. However, you might be wise to stay away until about mid to late October. It gets awfully hot down here in the summer ... I doubt that most thick-blooded Yanks could stand our humid heat.

At the rate I'm able to save, it'll probable be quite some time before I'm able to get there anyway.

This doc's name is Michael Weitzner. Ever heard of him?

Take care,

Hey Janice: Sorry I didn't answer you sooner but my server kicked me off the net. I nearly went nuts without my fellow babblers for two days. Yes I am Canadian eh--I live in a little town outside of our beautiful nations capital. No one considers it more than a suburb of ottawa except the people that live here. I'd love to know which little fishing village you're from. I spent some time in Lunenburg years back and had the time of my life. Nova Scotia feels like home to me, it's so beautiful and very friendly. Anyway thanks for asking and be well. Peace--Tina

Hello Tina,

My famiy is from Chester (father's side) and mother's side from Pugwash. Although, I was born in Moncton (armpit of the earth). NS is spectacular. My grandfather was a lobster fisherman. My father left because the economy is so poor. To my eyes, it's the most beautiful place in the world, and so unique.

I like Ottawa and the surrounding areas. I have not spent much more than a couple of weeks there in total, but find it very beautiful. My cousin lived in a place call Munster something or another.

If your cousin lived in munster hamlet it's only 5 minutes down the road from where I am. It's a cute little place, not much to see though. I have been to chester, very cool and my sister in law is from somewhere outside Moncton, never got into that with her. I agree with you about NS, I stayed with a family in Gold River when I was there, had a great time. G'Night---Tina

I also wanted to tag on to this message the fact that I scanned through the old post periods and couldn't find that post by KarenB about the career website. Maybe if you have a better idea of where it can be found you could drag it out and post it here for me Thanks>
