Noa,
I just realized that my naming you in the subject line of my post probably made you feel burdened. I never read your post and didn't realize what was going on. I just remembered that you had been clued in before.
As always, take care of yourself first.
I just ordered the Thyroid book on your recommendation---purchased through Dr. Bob's site---should provide some support. It looks very good.Abby

Hi, Abby.
I also recommend The Thyroid solution by Dr. Ridha Arem, which focuses on the interrelatedness of thyroid problems and psychiatric problems. It provides an excellent discussion of how low-grade hypothyroidism is an all-too-often overlooked but important factor in anxiety and depression, providing explanations of how thyroid hormones affect the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine. Dr. Arem also emphasizes the mutuality in the relationships among thyroid hormone imbalances, anxiety, depression, and stress. This book is a must for any woman struggling with depression, and should be required reading for all mental health professionals as well as primary care physicians.
This is the end of the thread.
